Elvive Revive Damaged Hair Color Vibrancy Repair & Protect Balm by L’Oréal Paris

Disclaimer: The product featured in this post was sent to me complimentary by Influenster and L’Oreal Paris to test and review. As always, all opinions expressed in this post are my own and reflect my own opinions and experiences.

If you’re anything like me, then you know that while coloring your hair is awesome and can make you feel like a million bucks, it’s not always easy to upkeep, and often times your hair ends up being damaged between the dye itself, heat styling, and environmental issues. Since I color my hair red, the upkeep is generally not too bad, but there’s still a lot going on that gives me some pretty hefty split ends and makes my color appear lackluster after a while. That’s where L’Oréal’s Elvive line comes in!

When I can’t get to my hairstylist immediately, it’s nice to have some product on hand to help me give a bit of a revival to my hair. A few months back, Influenster had a quiz about our hair that I shared my results for on Instagram. Turns out, that quiz helped some of us qualify for this VoxBox! Based on our hair type results, we were sent complimentary products by L’Oreal from their new Elvive line, which is dedicated to reviving damaged hair!

The complimentary product I received was the L’Oreal Elvive Color Vibrancy Repair & Protect Balm. This product is meant to be used as a hair mask 1-2 times a week after shampooing. It’s a full size tub of product, and since I recently cut my hair, this tub is enough to easily last me 3-4 months of twice weekly usage. It really doesn’t take a lot to see results!

Since my usual shampoo was almost out, and I was lucky enough to find it on sale, I opted to buy the suggested L’Oreal Color Vibrancy shampoo referenced on the back of the Hair Balm container. I figured it would make a more complete and effective system, since they are designed to work together.

Below I’m sharing before and after photos. These were taken on separate days, but with both I showered with the L’Oreal Shampoo mentioned above, blow dried my hair, slept that night, and flat ironed the next day before taking the photos. The only difference between the two days is the second day I used the Elvive Revive Mask.

You can see here that my hair is just kind of… eh. Which is not how my hair should be! I’m lucky that my hair holds color fairly well (I last had it colored about 3 weeks before this photo) but as for texture it was just dry and frizzy and my roots were oily. I spent so much time flat ironing my hair and it just doesn’t want to hold!

The Results: Proof In 1 Use

Same hair, same shampoo, same drying and styling process. The only difference? I used my Elvive Revive Hair Mask this time! I shampooed my hair, applied the hair balm, and let it sit for about 5 minutes while I shaved before rinsing it out. And LOOK AT THAT DIFFERENCE! It’s absolutely crazy! My hair feels so much more soft and isn’t frizzing up nearly as much, and the styling didn’t take nearly as long either!

Side-by-Side Comparison

I mean, need I say more? You can see the difference! The brand boasts a claim that you will see proof of it’s effectiveness in one use, and I concur fully! And after using twice a week for nearly a full month, I’m not even 1/3 of the way through the tub of product. On L’Oreal’s Website, this whole tub only costs $6.99, so I have to say it’s more than worth it!
