Happy December, everyone!

We’re back sharing our favorite ways to wear Sweater Dresses! We chose this as a way to celebrate the height of the winter season, and although we ran into a few bumps and unforeseen cultural differences in availability, I’m so in love with all of these dresses! We’re also introducing a new member to the group, Kamalika! You’ll meet her later on in this post.

Gabby (Hey, that’s me!)

These photos were taken after the event I actually wore the dress for; our local Botanical Garden had an open house with a candlelit walk to/through the camellia garden, and it was absolutely lovely.

I’ve had this sweater dress since high school (I actually wore it to my All State Choir audition my Senior year I made it in!), and it was my mother’s before me. Since it still fits me very well, I’ve never had the heart to donate it, especially because I love the purple color!

It wasn’t cold enough for tights or a jacket, but it is winter after all so I opted for a slouchy pair of heeled boots. I know some may consider it a fashion faux pas to wear brown boots with my black bag, but honestly I love mixing it up and thought the gold fastenings helped tie it all together. I also opted for a gorgeous statement necklace to add some glamour to the outfit. I usually wear this necklace short, but I love the option it has to make it longer so I can still wear a necklace with the slouchy cowl neck of this dress!

This was the one image I was able to have taken of us at the gardens. It was dark so please excuse the massively unflattering Phone Camera Flash lighting. Obviously this photo was prior to my new haircut and fresh color on my red.

Chelsea (Rosy Point of View)

Chelsea also chose a sweater dress with a cowl neck, hers being in a classic grey color. She paired hers with an amazing quilted leather/pleather moto jacket and ankle boots! I think this look is super chic, and I definitely want to get my own moto jacket soon!

Dominique (A Petite Flower)

Dominique kept her sweater dress look casual-chic with a more relaxed fit. I love her pairing with lace tights and ankle boots, and the sparkly headband in her hair is the perfect touch of glamour to match!

Kamalika (The Solitary Aesthete)

Meet Kamalika! She is a friend of Oendrila who is excited to fill the open position in our group.

I was unaware when we chose the theme, as were these two ladies, that sweater Dresses are hard to find in India! So Kamalika and Oendrila have chosen two different kinds of winter dresses to share with us instead. I love Kamalika’s shirtdress, which she paired with a gorgeous coat (you can see on her post!)

Jody (It’s Fantabulous)

Jody has chosen a beautiful navy blue sweater dress with open shoulders and paired it with tights and ankle boots. I love how the color of her sweater dress compliments her complexion and I think the long sleeves are very flattering on her!

Oendrila ( Just OD Things)

Oendrila has a beautiful choice in dress! She’s explained her choice below:

India being a really warm place, we don’t commonly get sweater-dresses here. I found waterfall shirt-dresses, as well as the expensive cashmere suits and their inexpensive nylon versions, which are Indian Anarkali suits, i.e. long-length empire-cut tunics, worn with leggings. So, I decided to go full on Indian ethnic, and wore our own version of a dress – a two-piece lehenga gown. This number by Karuna Deora is made of handloom silk, with an incredible texture unexpected thickness. The volume comes from the thick lining and net frame beneath all the opulence. Altogether, it not only gives me a royal look, but keeps me warm while doing so!

Thus concludes this month’s Six Blogger Style post! What would you like to see us style in January? Let me know in the comments below!

Xoxo
