I have a confession to make. I, your resident blogger here, am a Serial Clearance Shopper.
That's right. Odds are, my first (and usually only) stop when I shop is straight for the clearance racks. Unless there's something specific I need, but even then I always check the clearance racks before I even glance towards the full-priced sections. I get a thrill from saving money. I don't have this desire for the newest, trendiest things, and if I do want something new I will usually try to DIY it before I spend an absurd amount of money on something material.
In my years of thriftiness, I have found a pretty good collection of ways to save money, or earn points towards gift cards (all of which I have personally had success with!) Most of these require very little effort, and don't really make you have to change any of your usual habits in order to use them.
Some days I can plan a full meal, baking chicken, sautéing vegetables, and maybe even baking some fresh bread.
Other days (more often than not) I’m lazy as all get-out. On these days I have a choice: either make something quick and, most likely, not very healthy, or throw some stuff into the crock pot and let it go for a few hours. I prefer the latter option as often as possible. I decided to share one of my favorite slow cooker recipes with you!
I’m digging into pre-blog selfies to start off my style posts, but for good reason. On this particular day, my friend Adri came over to do my makeup. She wanted to do a pinup- inspired look.
I’m a little late in posting this, but didn’t start the blog until after the ball last month. It was the Mr. and I’s first military ball, and I absolutely loved my dress. I found it at Ross for $24! Can’t really complain about that, especially with how perfect it was.
So, here we are. The first page. The teetering baby step of a new venture.
The beginning of a blog.
I’ve always found joy and solace in writing. Even in school, I loved essays and short journaling exercises. But with the boom of the internet age, where words can reach across the globe in an instant… it can be a little intimidating.
